The Dodge House is a beautiful piece of local history. Council Bluffs would not be what it is today if it weren't for the friendship between General Dodge and President Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln decreed Council Bluffs to be the Eastern terminus of the Union Pacific Railroad. General Dodge is one of our most prominent citizens. The Dodge House is decorated to match what it looked like in the 1870s. Going inside is going back in time. Stunningly beautiful place.

A very fun place to visit. Lots of great history, it’s always fun to see old houses and how people lived a century ago. Most of the furniture and decor in the house is original to the owner. You get to watch a short video history of the place and general dodge himself.nThe staff is friendly and helpful and very informative. Good time!

Fantastic experience! Very knowledgeable people who very much care about your experience. I highly recommend sending them an email if you felt your experience was subpar. Michelle is wonderful and will do whatever she can to ensure you receive the full experience. No complaints from us! And pick up a membership while you’re there!

Beautiful house! The tour guide knew a lot of the history of the place, and had great facts about what the family all did, and famous historical people visited there as well. Highly recommend this place.
