Terrible management! I called them today to tell them about an incident that happened today at the apartment and they told me there was nothing they could do then hung up on me.

I lived in an Altoona property I'd been there over two months. My kitchen sink backs up each time the apartment above me uses their sink, I can smell other bathrooms even though I have my bathroom fan on 24/7, my living room windows aren't attached to the walls so I can push them a quarter inch to the outside and every day sewer gas bubbles back through my kitchen sink. I complained about the noise levels and even have recordings of it because I was told that without recording they would do nothing. They did nothing. Literally the walls are hollow and so is my ceiling so my daughter and I are kept up or woken up every day. They told me that if I make a maintenance request that constitutes 24 hour notice to enter, HUD law says otherwise?nI want to also rectify a mistake I made in saying that John Chickering has been an employee of this company. He is not and is not the affiliated with this company other than as a person who hired this company. I was wrong and since I was wrong I will say it. I have continued to have issues with Metro Property Management but John has talked with me and thing's are being rectified.nI highly recommend that anyone who is looking at Metro Property Management to manage their rental property reconsider. If you are wanting to rent from this management company I would also recommend you reconsider.

I have been a tenant through Metro for almost 3 years now I believe. I first lived in the south side and then transferred to the West Des Moines Area. Reasonable rent and good floor plans. Extremely understanding when it comes to rent if ever needed. I live on Grand Ave and love the area. My landlord Larry is great and so is the assistant Kylie, if I have complaints they take care of it asap (small maintenance issues only twice throughout my tenure.) I have no complaints, we keep to ourselves and have no issues with neighbors besides occasional music which we don’t mind as it is apartment living and it’s never loud enough to truly upset us and within acceptable times anyways. Quarterly pest control, and if you have any issues they always come back within 2 weeks. If your looking I highly recommend working either with Ingrid or Kylie super friendly service. Thank you Metro for renting out to me my very first apartment and then the transfer!

We constant call for maintenance emergencies from our toilet over flowing and our sink clogging and no one picks up and when they do they tell us it’s not much of an emergency to them, they act like they don’t want to help us out, they were rude to us from the beginning and they still are now, very unprofessional and not helpful what so ever! I’m going to report them to the BBB! They need better staff and better business!

I moved in 2 months ago and have had nothing but issues. I have severe asthma And have been having troubles breathing and getting a stuffy nose since I moved in, and three weeks ago I noticed there was leak in my bathroom. I put in a maintenance request and the first maintenance guy told me there was a lot of mold in there, and said he fixed it but he didn’t. Second maintenance guy came in, hired professional, and told me as soon as he walked in he got the smell of mold and mustiness and that there is a lot in the bathroom and I shouldn’t be staying there. I have been trying to contact somebody for weeks about inspection and have had no answer, from anyone. I asked for a discount off of rent or at least a months free of rent since I have been having to stay with my fiancé. Still nothing. Very disappointed. I can’t even have my son stay with me because his allergies get so bad and he gets sick.
