Winwood Apartments

So it bothers me that there is not a lower rating than 1 Star. Where do I start? The management? Mediocre. The actual apartment? Poorly designed and cheaply made. The neighbors? Difficult to deal with on a good day. Management encourages people to “tell” on one and other which promotes negativity and resentment amongst the community of tenants. I would rather live on mars then go live at winwood again. I can only imagine how miserable every human being that lives there is. Save your time and look elsewhere I’m telling you it’s worth it.

I have not lived here, but my review is based off of the tour I took. These apartments look beautiful and new in all the photos they take, but those are of just the newly renovated units. I was actually nearly sold on the apartments because it had everything I needed, but seeing them in person was a complete turn off. Out of the 30 something buildings they have, it looks like only half of them are taken care of, if that. I looked around at the buildings as we walked from unit to unit and was terrified that they would have some sort of pest problem. The paint was chipped everywhere, there were spider webs everywhere, leaves from last fall in the webs, dirt covering the bases of the buildings I saw, and rusty nails holding the stairs in tact. I haven't seen buildings this dilapidated since I don't know when. These may not be big things to others but to me it says the property management isn't taking very good care of the buildings or the grounds. The final straw for me was the apartment next to the one I was interested in. As we walked by their screened in porch, I could see mounds of trash all over. Papers, cardboard, cloth?? I can't even describe the mess. The blinds were are chewed to hell by their pet(s). People can be messy, yes, but this type of mess is what attracts roaches and I will not be apart of that. I mentioned it to the gal showing me and she didn't seem to care and wasn't phased. Sorry to give such a poor rating, but the lack of care towards the buildings I saw was astounding. If you don't mind a mess, but like homey apartments, these might be for you. The people I did encounter while there were extremely nice. Just gotta get those buildings cleaned up.

I called in this afternoon just wanting information about leasing an apartment. A woman named Jackie answered the phone with a very unpleasant tone which did not go away throughout the call.nShe was not customer friendly.nIf this is the management for this place or if management is hiring people like her then this place either needs new management or need to get rid of her and only hire bubbly people.nI informed her that I had questions and she said “yeahhh....” I ignored it at first but then she interrupted me before I even stated my first question and saidn“Go ahead” in an annoying manner. Girl fix yourself there are so many people out here without jobs and would be more than happy to take yours.

A fantastic place to live! Jackie, Stacey, Lindsey, and other staff members are so professional and friendly. They even remembered my name the first week I moved in. Maintenance is always great and timely when it comes to requests. They grounds are always kept up, and they always inform residents when stuff is being done to the properties. The apartments are always kept up, and clean. My favorite part of the complex is how dog friendly it is! They recently built a dog park, and the trails are amazing to take your dog for a nice stroll. I love taking my little pup for walks since many residents have dogs and he can make new friends. The staff also love dogs!

Many tenants are rude and boorish, I regret that I even settled here.
