one of the best meals I have had in Des Moines. I consider myself a foodie, and I like to try exotic foods, unusual variations of regular dishes... sometimes inventiveness trumps the occasional flaw in the dish. This was not the case. From the Greek salad to the Gyro, everything, I mean literally EVERYTHING was expertly made. The lettuce was crisp, without overt bitterness, the tzatziki was of the ideal consistency and the lamb.... don't even get me started on it! It was cooked to perfection, expertly spiced. To top it all, we got Turkish coffee and baklava. Did I mention that MJ is by far one one of the nicest persons I've met in Des Moines?!? This place has a special spot in my heart as a go-to, celebration place. I'd give 7 stars if it was possible. I cannot stress enough how this place is amazing

I had heard good things about this little restaurant, so I decided to give it a shot. It was amazing!! I had the spicy garlic chicken shawarma pita and a lentil soup. Both were incredible and filled me up just right!nnI was concerned that there wasn’t enough sauce when I first looked at it, but the chicken was so flavorful and juicy it more than made up for it.

y far the best place to eat in Iowa!!! What an amazing surprise. What we thought was going to be a fast food joint turned out to be the most affordable gourmet Mediterranean food. I wish I lived here so I can come back over and over. I can’t recommend this place enough. You will love the food.

The food and the service were both outstanding. We had a Greek salad, Gyros and spicy chicken shawarma - all fresh and with a wonderful flavor. Don’t forget to finish up your meal with the traditional Baklava and Turkish coffee. Will definitely go back and I strongly recommend it to everyone. 10/10

Upon arrival at this restaurant, the man at the counter immediately greeted myself and my group. We had never had Greek/ Mediterranean food before, and he was incredibly helpful. We ordered food, and while ordering, he recommended pairings for the foods as well as the best options (wrap vs burger, plain vs spicy, etc.) The inside of the restaurant, while small is very cozy and smells amazing. Beautiful location has to views of the Drake University Campus from the windows, as well as an interior that makes you want to spend a few hours inside rather than a quick bite and dash.nnI will be returning to this location again for sure, the cost of the food was completely agreeable, and the food tasted amazing. I would 100% recommend this location to anyone who wants a break from the fast food norm!
