Anyone that doesn't put 5 stars is a hater and is wrong. These sandwiches are amazing with the best bread you could ever get (they make it). The union is a crazy good italian sandwich and the pesto chicken is mind blowing.....mind. blowing. Get some.
The sandwiches are very good. For Des Moines, the price is too high, but there is literally no other competition in the local market that even comes close. However, their customer service is fairly poor. For example, the phone number listed on their website (should you choose to call an order in) is either disconnected, or no one will answer it. This could frustrate some. Additionally, online ordering is easy, but you cannot order on behalf of someone - they have to present their ID and the card that was used to pay for the order. So, even if I put my secretaries name down as the person who placed the order, she cannot pick up the order without my presenting my payment card.
Best deli in the state, hands down. Been coming here for years. The Hot Italian sandwich is my favorite thing to eat on this Earth. So. Good.
A cute place to grab a yummy deli sandwich or soup for lunch. I hope they survive the pandemic so I can go more often for lunches downtown.
Highly recommend the Sarah’s revenge but you can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches. They do have tough hours so make sure you double check if they’re open. If they are get over there and get yourself a sandwich!!!
