We had driven past this place for years and never got around to going. Well, we finally did, and holy cow! The incredible things this man created with his own two hands MUST be seen in person! The artistry, the attention to detail, the creative way this man has immortalized his memories and the things that were important to him can not be described in words! His wife (I'm ashamed I don't recall her name), was an absolute delight, and it was genuinely a good time just spending time with her. Not awkward one bit! After 58 years of marriage her passion for her husband's life work was truly inspiring. I would travel hours to visit again. Clear some time, make an appointment, and visit this true hidden wonder!
If you like clocks and/or detailed wood craftmanship the Johhny Clock Museum is a must for Iowans.
MASTER wood carver. Known for his carving of clocks. His museum is a MUST see.
