I don’t feel protected or safe in the small town of Spencer Iowa. Clearly Spencer isn’t the safest town. I get that the police officers try their best but what if it was one of their kids being bullied or picked on. What would they do then? Honestly I am truly afraid of these officers all the time. I don’t feel safe I don’t feel protected and they make me feel uneasy. They’re distracted and don’t pay attention I feel like. I have never trusted Spencer in the first place.

Petty, egotistical, dishonest, disrespectful and criminal. I've had more than a few run-ins with the law enforcement clique here in Spencer and I will say in all truthfulness that they are a contributing factor to the problems in Spencer. They aren't ALL terrible, but it makes no sense when you pick and choose how to do your job. Doing the right thing vs. doing a job are two highly counterintuitive processes that dictate illogical thinking and has to be frustrating to no end; however when we as denizens of the very same municipality as the law enforcement personnel see them applying the same formula that farmers do with swine and cattle, we get mad for the right reasons. We are not criminals who have no regard for civility and order, but we are NOT a cash crop for the higher-ups to get fat upon. If you are not solving the problem you are either a variable, or an intangible existentiality and negate your purpose in the equation or you are the problem. Treat each other with passionate realism and help one another as human beings. Jail, fines, and sanctions do not work for everyone. Smarten up.
