Nice, easy loop trail, with some other little trails here and there. Interesting remnants of a colonial mill and the chimney of a cabin can be found. Trails are well marked. Great little hike in woods.

We used to fish the pond and the streams back in the 1970s when the property was a private, members only fish and game club. The fish were literally jumping out of the pond! It was loaded with trout. They would stock the waters heavily with rainbow and brown trout and there were several gold trout as well. Used worms as bait and always brought out the limit in less than 30 minutes. Today the water level in the pond is much lower and the flow of the brook is also significantly declined from what it used to be. Nice seeing the old place again. Not the same as it used to be.

Hiked here yesterday with my kids. We hike every day and I've never been to a trail like this. Trees down everywhere. Looked like a construction site. I thought this was a conservation area?! Also dead animals everywhere. Dead fish and birds near the waterfall. I couldn't let the kids or my dog explore because I was worried they'd touch something. That was the yellow trail and part of the blue trail. Once we got passed the waterfall if was beautiful. Just like every other hike we've been on. Untouched with streams and winding trails. Not sure we'll go back though.

As of May 2020, there are sections of the forest that have been damaged by storms and cleared by work crews. However, the work that's been done has indeed been to manage the space and control non-native species to allow for a healthier long-term habitat. The trails are quite nice and make for a non-strenuous hike for kids and adults alike.

The trail is closed for tree removal, but I have walked here many many times and love it.
