Norwegian Wood Apartments

I have rented about10 apartments in the past 20 years. Norwegian wood apartments is the only place ever messed with my security deposit. Usually international students live here, maybe thats why they have this habit of keeping your deposit for unrealistic reasons. They cut a 550$ out of my deposit they said the carpets were dirty. Which is really funny because anyone gets in apartment has to take of their shoe first. Be careful. If you are about to move out, make sure they examine the apartment in your presence. If they say they will check out the apartment after you move out then mail you a check, Goodluck!!

It’s loud. Soundproofing is very bad. Although advertised as heat included you don’t have the control of the heat, they set it to a degree that they are comfortable with. Also very Bad management, they kept our security deposits for no reason.

We rent an apartment at Norwegian Wood for almost one year (2015). The two bedroom apartment was in very good shape, and the staff is very professional. I definitely recommend this place to someone looking for an apartment in the area.

This place smells like raw sewage, at least 2 of the buildings have this smell outside of them, it is terrible and I will be leaving because of it. I am so disappointed too, because the apartment is lovely and the community is fairly nice, I just cannot stand that smell!

Do not make the choice to live here !! You will be disappointed after leaving here. You will need to worry about your deposit after leaving the apartment. They will find a reason to charge you and deduct from the deposit and they will rip you off. They deducted $800.00 for nonsense reasons ( blinder, carpet, stovetop etc replacements even though that was not necessary). They will charge you for the carpet replacement because they want to show the carpet new for the new tenant. Here are some of the things you want to know before moving into this apartment complex.nn1. There is something is going on all the times. You will hear all maintenance noise all day if you stay at home.n2. Heat insulation is crapy ! most of the units are rented as no heat included ! be prepared to pay ~$350 electricity bill during winter !. They don't care even you complain about the heat leak because they don't have to pay the bill.n3. You you live in the first floor, you will not be able to sleep well due to disturbing noise from upstair unit.n4. Rooms are not bright at all (especially in the master bedroom). You need to turn the light on even during the daytime.n5. First floor rooms were moldy. We could see the white patches on the wall in our master bedroom.n6. Storage is just like a junkyard. if you put your stuff there, they will be infested by Fungus.n7. The kitchen was part of the living room, which I also did not like very much. If you cook something, whole living room will be smelly.n8. I could never get the place to smell right, the hall ways were stuffy and people would leave their trash outside their door ways.n9. You will need to worry about your deposit after leaving the apartment. They will find a reason to charge you and rip you off.n10. The property manager/receptionist at the location is very unfriendly/ rude. She will talk to you nicely while/before moving in, but not during your stay or while moving out.n11. Kitchen exhaust fan only blows smell into the living room. Poorly designed kitchen and exhaust system.n12. They will send you a letter/call you for non-payment after cashing your check even after the fact that the rent was paid in time. I had to show them my bank statement/image of check once. Poor communication between staffs.nnOnly good thing there : New washer/dryer installed recently. However, this is insignificant compared to the bad things there.nnSo, think 100 times before making decision to stay there.
