Great old school feel. Best hot dog in New England. Breakfast of champions is to die for. The pancakes come in a pizza tin, so don't even think about ordering more than one. The breakfast burritos are the size of a newborn baby. My only regret is that they aren't open Sunday.
Amazing food and great prices. I picked up a bunch of omelets, platters, and pancakes for the wedding party, and it was a crowd favorite. No better way to start the day!
To combat COVID-19 the qwerky signs and historical pictures above the cooking area are now behind thick plastic. Most of the indoor seating is gone. But all in all, the food is still great! One of the few places around that know how to do 'Frito pie' and the special sauce on the Kamp Dog has a nice kick with the flavor. If you want a quick bite to go, here is the place.
I've been there on three separate occasions. The first time I had their mini burgers, just to get a sample of their burgers. On my second and third visits, I had the Firehouse Burger. The third visit, I had them put Jalapeño peppers on it. The burger is basically a cheese burger with chilli and raw onions on top. I bought it twice in a row, so it's safe to assume that I really enjoyed it. ud83dude0b Oh, be warned, it's a messy burger, lol. If you like mom and pop diners/burger joints, and you're in New London, stop by.
Place is legit. Great food. Great prices. Staff is awesome.
