Hamden Wash & Wax

This place was great. This is my second time there and both times they have been very kind and willing to help me figure out what would work best for my car. It did take a bit for the complete in and out but that was to be expected and they were good about letting me know the status. They have a small room to sit I while you wait which has AC and in the winter is heated too. I'm not a member of their car wash servit but I would definitely consider it. I will definitely be going back.

What a waste of money the website makes it sound great but thr fact is old equipment poor customer service and you have to vacuum your own car. When on the site says everything for 20. My car went in dirty came out dirty. They should pay me for the wash.

I love this place best car wash ever

I've been going to this place for years, which has been under at least two sets of management that I'm aware of. Old management was way better.nOn more than one occasion I've been through the car wash where there was a malfunction. Once even in the winter where they covered my car in soap and there was no working water to wash it off.nCost vs quality for the hands on scrub at the beginning of the wash is under par. I witnessed many vehicles, including my own, exit the wash still filthy. Only to have to wait in line again so another attempt can be had. The best part of this, which I held on to for last, is they expect you to tip them for their services before you even start the wash.nVacuums there have terrible suction there. If I stop by I use the one before the last because it seems to be the only one the works properly.nSave your money with getting a detail here. I personally never had one, but judging how their performance, or lack thereof, I can predict the expensive outcome.nIf you drive down Skiff st to State St, and take a left, there is a Mobile gas station immediately on your lefthand side. There is also a car wash behind them. You may want to keep your options open, and more of your own money inside of your pocket.

Used this carwash place since January through June and everything was going well. Til the very last day when I noticed after washing my car the same day that my windshield had scratches on it. These scratches are not in the direction of the wipers as the manager wanted to elude. I wiped the windshield down inside and out just to make sure that it was indeed scratched. I then started checking my hood and there were nicks on the hood and top of car near the top of the windshield. Some were rusted and some were fresh. I went back the very next day to speak with the manager about the damages and he was short of calling me a lier. I said to the manager that this is not the way to speak with a customer. He then said that it would be impossible for that to happen at the carwash. I responded It is not at all impossible and strange things do happen. I have barely driven my car anywhere (do to the pandemic and working from home for 4-5 months). I left totally disappointed with the managers response and manner of addressing me. Then on my way home I realized what might have happened. I recall the road (Skiff Street especially the area in front of the business) being worked on and paved and what I think happened is that the carwash was not inspected daily. Your vehicle goes through the wash that uses the cloth strips. In a motion that whipped back and forth on the hood, windshield and top of car with gravel stuck to them and therefore making the scratches and nicks. They will not take responsibility for the damage. Caution: if you use the carwash inspect your car before you leave or else you will have a damaged car. I would expect for Hamden Wash and Wax to pay for the damaged hood to say the least. Hopefully this will help someone else and help them avoid the damage. O stars from me.
