I was stopped and it turns out my license was suspended and my car was towed hence the 4 star rating but the officer was very pleasant and informative he turned a bad experience into a not so bad one!
Lived in Winsted 19 years. I've seen these people doing ANYTHING maybe 3 times. You wanna speed down main? Go ahead! You don't wanna stop at stop signs in a school zone? Why bother? You wanna sell drugs out of a known drug house while TPD literally begs to hold your hand through a proper drug raid? This is the PD you want in your town. Literally nothing more useless. You call them...they can't help. You inform them...they don't care. They can't even Google...
The most polite and courteous corrupt cops you’ll probably meet are in this department. Some of the officers are decent and productive at ensuring the safety of the Public. Others are on a perpetual power trip, fueled by their personal feelings of inferiority and low self esteem.
Winsted police dept have always been there immediately and treated parties with the utmost respect. Having moved to Virginia and back, there is a notable difference in the way our police interact with the general public. I truly appreciate them and the stress they endure. Thank you.
This dept lacks much training in risk assessment and diversity training. Not all situations should be treated as a terrorist situation. Appears to lack a moral compass.
