Jeweled Hair Lounge is an inviting, well managed and well maintained store. This hair store is black owned and the owner makes her own hair oil that I swear by. My Aunt referred me to the owner and her store and I do my best to shop their for all my hair needs. Everyone support this amazing black woman and her black owned hair store.

I recently visited the Jeweled Hair Lounge and unfortunately I had a very bad experience. The salon was clean and my stylist Sha Brooks was polite. However, the quality of my braids was severely lacking. I also felt super awkward towards the end of my appointment when Brooks and another stylist suggested that they didn’t like doing braid work. In fact, Brooks stated explicitly that she was planning to stop doing braids. These statements made me feel uncomfortable and I knew that this would be my first and last time at this salon.nnI wanted medium sized box braids in a bob length. I ended up with parts that were too large, improperly burned ends and way too much excess hair on the braids in general. While I was not entirely happy when I left the salon, I thought I could get over the size and messiness if I trimmed the excess hair on my own. Honestly I just wanted the experience to be over. Brooks used moose and had me sit under a hooded dryer which masked just how much extra hair there was. But the next morning I realized how poorly the style was done. Because the ends were improperly burned, one braid was completely loose and I was able to literally pull it from my scalp without any effort. Other braids were already beginning to frizz and some of the ends began to get puffy.nnI immediately called the salon (although it was closed) and left a message. Two days later, after also sending an email and FB message, I was able to finally speak with an owner. Malisa (an owner) apologized but refused to give me a full refund. She did admit that I was overcharged and that my hair was not properly done. She offered me two options: (1) a stylist could redo the entire style; OR I could receive a partial refund (primarily for being overcharged) and a stylist would somehow “fix” my hair.nnI expressed multiple times that I was not willing to come back to the salon because the style was so poorly done and that the stylists’ comments made me much me less confident in the braiders skill but Malisa refused to hear me out. She made continuous excuses for the stylists and tried to persuade me multiple times to come back anyways. I ended up with a partial refund only.nnThese pictures were taken 4 days after the style was completed.

I brought my 9 year old daughter in to get her hair braided. Mo was very gentle and took her time with my daughter. The location was great. Salon was very welcoming, and the girls were a gem! The BEST part is that the front half is a beauty supply store and I didn’t have to go ANYWHERE else for hair accessories. A1!!

Beautiful store, they have everythingggggg!!! And the icing on the cake: a salon too!!... Where can you go and not only get a beauty supply store but get your hair done in the same place!! Super bonus: black owned...#winning!nFriendly staff, courteous, caring and skilled and what they do.

This place is absolutely amazing!! I did my hair with Moona she is amazing! So friendly and quick. Did my knotless braids in 4 hours. The salon is in the back, the hair store is in the front which makes it super easy to get what you need immediately after your service. I will defiantely be going back. Such a nice ambience and clean!
