Very interesting, and lots of history I will be back soon to buy books.
Ray Read, the director, is a wealth of history. It's much bigger on the inside. You don't want to pass this gem up. Learning about how one of the most secret commando units from WWII was formed and still has living members in Helena was definitely a treat.
Stop in and see if you he history of the military in Montana. There is a volunteer staff, led by Ray Reed, who are extremely knowledgeable about history. Pick up some souvenirs from the gift shop and support the cause. I'd you have questions you will get in depth answers.
Closed on the day that we were there. However, there is plenty of other things to see in and off base.
