This hardware store is a real gem! Plenty of very helpful service available, and this won't be found in a box store. Well stocked, and also very resonably priced. Strongly recommended.
I stopped by Newtown Hardware looking for dowels. I explained to the gentleman that I am a teacher and I need the dowels cut into 6 inch pieces so each child could have their own rolling pin for play dough. The gentleman said that he is a school custodian and he understood that every student needs their own tools. He took the time to cut the dowels for me. I just want him to know, because I'm sorry I don't know his name, that he made my students very happy!! Thank you for your kindness.
I try and buy locally and Newtown Hardware makes that really easy! When you walk in the store, regardless of how busy they are there is ALWAYS a friendly staff member the guide you to what your looking for and help you pick just the right thing. They care... The Big Box guys just plain don't.
We'd rather support the local shops than the big box stores! They always have what we need.
Friendly staff and very convenient. Prices are in line with the big box store if not better.
