Colonial Cleaners of Monroe

I have used this cleaner since they have opened. They have never lost an item, and have always been honest. The owners and people that work there have always been kind and courteous.

Do yourself a favor...if you choose to use this cleaner's, check your clothes BEFORE DRIVING OFF. I was using this cleaner's on a regular basis. I also found the drive- through to be very convenient and the people I interacted with very nice UNTIL TODAY. A week ago I dropped off items to be cleaned with a pick up of the cleaned items the following week. While transferring the clothes from the wire hangers to wooden hangers, I noticed that all of the pants were pressed, however, they had not been cleaned. I took them back to the cleaners at which time I politely shared the issue with the lady there and to my surprise she accused me of wearing one of the items of which she was going to charge me again to clean. Unbelievable to be accused of wearing an item and told that I'd be charged AGAIN to clean something that should've been cleaned the first time. Hindsight is 20/20, I should've checked each item when I picked them up, but I trusted the quality of their work. And because I've been a solid customer, its very upsetting to be treated in this manner. Unfortunately a horrible experience.

As the prior poster noted, the staff is friendly and I agree- that is until you point something out that was done wrong. I switched to this dry cleaner because my trusted cleaners retired. In the past three months I have visited twice and lost two high priced items. The first was a (150 USD) sweater size adult medium that came back shrunken to a child's size. They apologized however still insisted on charging me for the cleaning and did not reimburse me- just said sometimes these things happen and they can try to stretch it. I figured, she's right, sh#@ happens and took it as a loss because they were super nice.nnA few days ago I dropped off three items, two of which were identical skirts (just different colors). During drop off, as per routine, they pulled out each item and took a quick survey. Nothing was noted. NOTHING. This afternoon I went to go pick it up. One of the skirts (purchased for 225 USD, and silk) was damaged. There appeared to be large discolorations, almost like bleach. A family member picked it up and they informed her that there was damaged but it was prior to dry cleaning- they couldn't do anything about it. Still charged full price and refused to reimburse.nnI called and asked to speak to the manager and asked what had happened. What followed was an uncomfortable conversation- to say the least. I calmly told the manager that considering the fact that they just damaged another item, I am alarmed that yet ANOTHER piece was damaged. She claimed it was color discoloration damage and that the silk skirt must have been in a hamper (who puts silk dry clean items into a hamper?) . Then she claimed that the damage was noted during the first survey when the item was dropped off (the same drop off that I did and stood while they took a look at everything). Interesting, on the receipt they gave during pick up, the items are written in one type of ink and the damage is noted in another color.nnAs the conversation went on, she grew more snippy and disrespectful and talked over me even though I tried to be as calm and open minded as possible. When I said my good byes though, I admit I hung up right in the middle of her chirpy Your welcome Good Bye!nnI am livid- more so about the type of treatment I received when I placed a calm call and asked for an explanation than the almost 400 dollars of damage I incurred. In fact this is the first time EVER I am placing a review online. Maybe other individuals have a better experience with them, however I will not be going back. Best take business to Rt 25 cleaners.
