Interesting museum, but for the time being, the exhibits were pretty limited. There is also a lot of construction work going on. Finding parking was confusing.nnI visited from all the way from Queens, New York City. I feel it's best suited for locals that have 30 mins to spare.nnHowever, they are working on new exhibits. The museum store was interesting, I picked up some cool stuff for my son.
A hidden gem right in downtown Greenwich! Brought my grandkids here and they loved it! The museum was a great time and we went to the park so they could run around after, It was a great day.
I called the museum store with a couple of simple questions. The employee was extremely rude and just short of hanging up on me.nIf she was busy she could have relayed this to me and I would have gladly called back.nCheck your customer service!
We visited the Bruce Museum about a year ago and when we heard that they recently reopened, we took a drive to Greenwich. We were very impressed with how you have to reserve on their website and when we arrived we were treated like honored guests. They have a few great exhibitions including a gallery filled with high school students paintings that are truly museum worthy. The Bruce Museum was closed for three or four months when the pandemic closed all museums in the New York Metropolitan Area. However, unlike many other museums, the Bruce Museum did not furlough or fire any of their staff! Everyone was kept on their full salaries. I found this out while talking to one of the security guards who told me how grateful he was to work for such an empathetic organization. My wife and I were so moved by his story and by the exhibitions that we signed on as members before leaving. They happen to have a great gift shop and are beginning construction on an entirety new museum that will even include a shark tank! The Bruce Museum is indeed a very special cultural institution that deserves your attention and is definitely worth planning a visit.
