Stumptown Historical Museum

Very friendly people and a beautiful historical building.

A quaint little museum in the heart of Whitefish, there are a bunch of interesting tidbits about the history of the town. Don't miss out on seeing the elusive fur-bearing trout ;) Free for entry, but there is a little tip jar for the museum staff (who are very knowledgeable, and gave us a great tour of the place)

Some great history about the area and especially about the railroad. Some cool artifacts and a while lot of pictures. I found the pictures and write-ups on train wrecks especially interesting. And it is all FREE!

Great little museum. Half of my family grew up in Whitefish so it was nice to see some of the history. Talked to one of the volunteers and they seemed quite knowledgeable about the area. We were there during the posted times but they said it has been hard to staff it lately.
