Be careful depending on direction you are driving you may miss this site. When we were heading west on Route 30 we did not see it but return east on Route 30 you could see it on the hill. Well designed museum and fort. Would love to return when there are educational events happening.

Great day trip for the entire family. Museum is nice and exhibits are very interesting and informative. The walk through the actual fort can be a bit of a workout as it is on quite a hill. There are several cannons, mortars, and howitzers around the fort. The buildings in the fort are set up as displays and have informative signs, but nothing beats a tour with a knowledgeable docent. Check the website for a list of events and plan ahead. I recommend the sunset wine and cheese tour for those age 21 and up.

In their quest to provide the most accurate depiction of an eighteenth century Fort and French and Indian war museum I have to say that they have exceeded even their own expectations. Come take a look. Fort grounds and museum open as long as the weather allows. Museum open weekends year round.

High quality artifacts in the museum that would you expect to see at the Smithsonian. A very well loved historical site by those who take care of it. Definitely will worth the visit.

I loved it! I really think it would be much better with a tour guide. So much to take in. I recommend checking it out.
