We had a great visit here. First we attended a lecture by the researcher who first discovered and excavated the rock shelter, which was in use as long ago as 19,000 years. He then gave the group a talk at the shelter itself, pointing out all of the salient features. It is amazing to have a site of this historical significance in Western PA. We then explored the historical village. The old buildings were interesting, the reenactors were very informative, and the Miller family museum with the family harness racing history was great. They have picnic tables so that you can make your visit a nice family outing.
First time here in 30 plus years. Enjoyed walking around and exploring. The guide at the schoolhouse and the rock shelter were the top highlights.
Gorgeous, informative, and interesting. I haven’t been here since I was a kid, and I loved it even more as an adult.
Beautiful day for a walk through history. Kept the kids entertained and they loved it.
Nice place to spend 1/2 a day. Some interesting historical displays and the archeological site.....
