My friend and I had a wonderful time here. Mary is an excellent tour guide and provided in-depth information about many of the music boxes, phonographs, or organs, and many of the other instruments there. There’s a lot of history attached to each piece and it’s all very informative. We were allowed to explore the bottom floor where more pianos, organs, and vintage radios were placed. A really interesting place for musicians and music appreciators.
I came here as part of a bus trip I took with my mom that I really had no interest in being on.nHard to get amped up when you're the youngest person by 30 years.nSoooooo I kinda had a let's just get this over with headspace going in.nThe trip was nice and the nicest piece was this little museum.nThe guide was pleasant and informative.nThe music boxes, player pianos, organs and other devices were AMAZING!nI was SO impressed.nI couldn't believe how beautiful they were and the engineering that went into creating them was SO impressive! Gorgeous woodwork and stained glass, old fashioned songs and intriguing history.nCan just mention the engineering again? (cause I feel like it needs 2 shout outs). Many of the pieces were well over 100 years old and the upkeep and care the folks running this place need to engage in to allow for the full experience is no small task.nThis is the only review I'm leaving for this trip, but i had to say something about this quiet little gem of a place.nPlease stop and see them if you get a chance!
A delightful experience! Our tour guide was animated and informative.
Fun and interesting museum! Highly recommend!
Our tour guide, Vince, was excellent! This place is amazing with many one-of-a-kind music boxes, player pianos, orchestrion, phonographs and so much more!!! And they work!!! Smithsonian worthy pieces. I wish we had planned more time—1.5 hrs was not enough. We appreciated our tour guide staying past closing time to accommodate us! There were so many great pictures to relate to the historical period. Thanks for a great afternoon in Franklin.
