Unfortunately the Zane Grey Museum was closed for the day.nThe area around the museum is worth exploring as the Roebling Bridge and the Minisink Battlegrounds are close. Maybe i have better luck next time.

The National Park Service runs this small but impressive museum in the one-time residence of Zane Grey. Grey, an avid fisherman, chose the site because it sits at the confluence of two rivers, the Delaware and the Lackawaxen. As an angler, Grey remains of interest and importance, as he still holds numerous world records in sport fishing. As a writer, the Zane Grey house is the site where Grey wrote Riders of the Purple Sage, a best seller that later helped to make major inroads for Grey into the movie industry. These aspects of Grey's life and more are incisively addressed in the excellent tour of this estate.

Near the confluence of the Delaware and Lackawaxen Rivers sits Zane Grey Museum. A quiet, beautifully maintained home with a lovely view of the river where one can spot bald eagles. I visit authors' homes around the Northeast, and his is by far is one of the nicest.
