Nampa Police Department

The policeman need more training on communication skills, these individuals automatically assume and generalize that we are all a threat and criminals for getting pulled over (especially if you are of a different culture and race) for a minor traffic violations such as expired registration. The two officers that pulled me over for expired registration, were very rude and took about half an hour to give me the citation, does not make me feel comfortable that my tax dollars are paying for such service. Yes I was unaware that it was expired and I took care of it the same day, but come one I just paid for two rude officers for 30 minutes for something so minor.

Nampa police department is not prompt and is not willing to work with you in a timely manner when a crime/fraud has occurred. Would give them 0 stars if I could. I highly suggest they change the way they do things and get an officer in contact with someone who has been a victim of a crime or fraud. I was able to go to the Caldwell police department, Have an officer dispatched to the station, meet with dispatched officer ten minutes later, and the officer has been in contact with me every day telling me updates and helping in the case. I have yet to hear from the Nampa police department and I contacted them 4 days ago via online reporting and through the phone. I do understand that crime and fraud happens a lot, and you are very busy, but if you want the trust of nampa citizens things better change.

Some bad apples making the entire department look bad. I’ve nearly been hit by some of them because some officers drive around at dusk time without headlights, and their dark vehicles can be difficult to see at that time and night. I also encountered an officer who had blocked the roadway with cones with no way around except to go off the road, which was not necessary. Traffic was heavy and He was standing there chatting with another officer on the opposite side of the road not doing his job which should be directing traffic. I’ve also seen them wit ness near collisions and not pull over the driver who nearly caused a crash. Seems a lot of them are just lazy or don’t care and are only there to serve themselves. Hopefully they can rid of these bad apples and improve their service because right now I feel it has been terrible.

I've seen multiple viral body cam videos of this department holding innocent residents at gun point with barely if no evidence of anyone commiting any crimes and far from any suspect they forcefully interrogate over a possible violation was guilty most if not all the employed officers should never have been aloud to have a fire arm ever as a resident of Idaho yet alone officers of the law and keepers of the peace all I've heard of them is them nearly murdering innocent civilians in a before peaceful community if something isn't done someone will get hurt

I can't even try to put into words how horrible and disgraceful this entire department is. Can't even respond and send an officer as requested on 911call today(6-23-19)for a child predator that we have made multiple complaints and calls on. Last time took hours for someone to show up for them to do absolutely nothing other than to be told that a detective would be in touch that took days to hear anything from and would then take days to return missed calls from working and show up while we were at work and nothing to happen. Bet if the parents took it into their own hands and did so.ething you would show up. Complete disgrace
