Small place, but very cool! Looking at the exhibits gives you a small sense of what the African- Americans went through, unfortunately even today. The docent was very knowledgeable about the museum and the treatment of the African- Americans in Idaho .

Idaho Black History Museum is just beside the Rose Garden and located in Julia Davis Park. It was built in 1995. This is the oldest black history museum in the Pacific Northwest. The museum is very educational and you will surely enjoy it.nnIn front of the museum there is a larger-than-life size bronze statue of seated Abraham Lincoln statue. It was created by Gutzon Borglum and established in 2010.

Very Educational. They change exhibits every couple months and are currently adding more.nThey also have kids comics/pamphlets to explain some of the more complex and/or graphic history in kid friendly ways.

Very enriching experience. I learned about aspects of Idaho's history I otherwise would never have known about.

Disappointing paid the full price and big chunks of the museum was not open
