We have moved to this school from MD where my daughter was at the top of her class in reading and math. When we got here we realized that there are a lot of kids who are advanced in math and reading (in 2nd grade) and my daughter noticed she was not the top performer...which was great as this motivated her. I heard the same feedback from people who moved from Illinois and California.nThis school recognizes that kids are at different levels and caters education to various learning levels. So advanced kids get challenging tasks above their grade level while kids who are behind work with teachers on catching up. So far we loved all of our teachers.nThere is very active PTA group that organizes a lot of events. Parents get very involved and volunteer a lot to assist teachers in class.nThe school through Ada district offers access to online programs for children to enhance their learning at home if desired. Finally, school follows NY curriculum which seems to me a bit head of the Idaho curriculum.nP.S. We moved here out of state and all the staff and teachers were extremely nice and accommodating to help us settle. All the staff knows me and my kids by their first names.

My son has had a great experience at Andrus Elementary. We have had two years there. Both of the teachers he has had have been great. Any problems/distractions they have had have been with children who can not pay attention in class and have behavioral problems. There is a safe school room where kids go when they are misbehaving, and I feel it is a good option. I think there are more problems for teachers these days because there is less parent involvement at home. This is a societal problem. Not a bad teacher problem. Even with other kids causing distractions, my son has excelled. Thank you to Andrus Elememtary!

my kids never had any problems until they came to Cecil D. Andrus Elem. my oldest was an honor student with plenty of friends. now hes being bullied by teachers and student's and blamed for things Ive never seen or heard them do, and im around my kids alot. it seems like just cause their new to this school its automatically blamed with no proof. it breaks my heart to hear my kid tell me that he has no friends at school and sits alone all the time at lunch cause no one likes him he says. he also says other heart breaking things to me about him self that im not going to repeat cause of the way he's treated at this school. All i hear everyday is how the teachers bully my kids and i tell them to do what their told from the school, by talking or telling staff, counselors or the principal that their being bullied or whatever else is happening and they do nothing. but they keep making me think their going to do something about the multiple problem issues that are still today continueing. no one at this school does anything about the bad, rude, lazy or inappropriate behavior of their staff or problem causeing students. im sick of it! they have no respect for the parents and are very judgmental of innocent students that have just been through or have been through traumatic events in their lil lives. no one even gave my kids a chance to get back on their lil feet after what they went through for years. now still trying to fill the holes and patch the broken hearts they had to experience at this young age when they cant even possibly grasp or understand what or why these things are happening in their life. my biggest mistake letting my kids go to Cecil D. Andrus Elementary.
