Good little museum, but severely lacks curation. It appears like they've taken every random thought ever had by a broad top resident and thrown it up on the wall. They really need some summarizing plaques and a guided tour.
So much history, information, you can't see and go through everything in one day.
I echo Wes's review. We went last Sunday, Father's Day, and were amazed to see the photos and items of days gone by. You think it's tough today, come here to get a reality check! A hidden gem in the Broad Top Mountain area.
It's a nice museum to learn a lot of history on coal mining and other history of the Broadtop
This place is a awsome!!!! Period. Locals an tourist alike will agree . If u like history thers no better place . Bt coal miners muesum will educate both young an old . Its not only about the bt coal feilds but a wealth of local knowledge that cant be matched !! I could easily spend all day touring this place an not see everything. It wont dissapoint . If u find yourself disappointed with bt coal.miners museum . You simply cant be pleased !!!!! THANKS TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS THAT MAKE THIS MUESUM POSSIBLE .
