This is the oldest car museum in the US. I stopped by with my 11yr old son, on my way through the area, and wasn't disappointed. Some of the oldest and rarest US cars built are here, and the visit was very informative. Did you know electric cars were built back in 1908? They have a few at the museum. There are also old toy cars, trains, and other antiques at the museum. They have the old dies used to make emblems on many old cars on display, too. Old Tucker, Cord, Studebaker, and others are on display, and all in excellent condition. It was an honor to have visited, and I'm not going to post any pics, because you really should go visit this place on your own. The lady working there, Tami, is very knowledgeable and helpful. I can tell she loves her job there, and was very enthusiastic about telling us details of everything we asked about. Herbie was on display! I loved those movies as a child, and have been a fan of VW beetles since. The craftsmanship of older vehicles is phenomenal, and I'm so glad people are preserving the best of our history in this manner, and allowing the public a peek at it all. Prices were more than reasonable here, as well.

Nice classic car collection near Altoona. Only $8 per adult. Cars from as far back as the early 1900's. It's not huge and comprehensive, but I don't regret going.

Was neat to see a piece of history. My boys loved seeing the differences from them until now.
