This is an awesome collection of firefighter antiques and memorabilia. The history of these heroic public servants and their equipment is absolutely amazing and must be shared with our younger generations! Many thanks to the retired firefighters who preserve this important part of American history for all of us. And as always, thank you to all the firefighters and emergency responders of past and present for their true grit in service of our communities.
The Firefighters Historical Museum is one of Erie's most unknown attractions. The firefighting history and exhibits are unbelievable. The hours are odd (because it's run solely by volunteers I think), but it's more than worth it to stop by and see if they're open.
A very quaint museum with a lot of very interesting history of firefighting. Especially nice for me because of growing up with a family of fire personnel.
We came from out of state and we planned to visit this museum - tucked in a residential neighborhood. We parked off street just watch closely the parking signs. The tour guide was Great explaining all the history and artifacts pertaining to firefighting. Huge collection of antiques and vintage artifacts, memorabilia and select trucks from horse drawn to early 1900’s. Two floors and the back section. Guided tours. Took about an hour and a half to go through. Learned so much about historical firefighting. Worth the money we paid. The couple who manage this place were friendly and nice. Some souvenir shirt available at affordable price. Bring your kids - they may get inspired like we were. We left with a greater appreciation of how firefighters sacrifice for us to be safe. Thank you - we love it. Worth the trip.
Awesome place will definitely go back some day.
