Wonderful day with my family. My Dad loves going to the zoo, but the Baltimore Zoo and the DC zoo are too much of a trip for him to handle with really bad knees. I remembered Lake Tobias as a pretty small place, easily walkable with lots of benches. So, we thought we'd give it a go. We did the drive through safari and it was wonderful seeing the animals so close up. We then did the rest of the zoo. It turns out it was a bit more walking than I anticipated. But, a really kind employee saw that he was struggling a bit and told us that they would golf cart us anywhere in the park. So, they took us to the petting zoo area and dropped us off. Then, when we were done there the employees at that area messaged him and he came back to pick us up and took us to the next area. It was wonderful and made the park easily accessible to my Dad and therefore made the day wonderful for us. THANK YOU!!!!nAll of the animals are well cared for and the park is extremely clean. An absolute hidden gem in our area
We visited this past weekend for the drive through safari. (Drove our own car through) Overall it was a fun experience, however we expexted to see more of a variety of animals. There we're a lot of deer, caribou, elk, bulls, and cattle. We did not see any giraffes. It was on and off rain during our visit, not sure if this is why.nnThe car that was directly in front of us would scare the animals away from our car. So we didn't get that particularly close to any animals except an ostrich type animal that pecked at our window glass. We enjoyed that. The driving- especially in the rain (with wet leaves) was a bit scary at times. Steep rocky paths.nnOverall we enjoyed it for the price.
First time visiting the place.. was a little concerned when we saw all cars parked on the field but once we were inside it wasnt really crowded.. had a really good time there.. will make another trip I'm sure..nWell we made a day trip for our 1 yr wedding anniversary.. had a good visit.. the animals are always a joy to see.. really enjoy driving the safari. Looking forward to our next trip out there.
I have not been to the park since I was a kid. I was blown away by the amount of different animals they have in the zoo area. I mean where else in central Pennsylvania can you see lions and giraffes? The drive through safari was really fun. It's great that you can drive your own vehicle through now instead of riding the buses. All in all definitely worth it to visit if you are in the area!
Feels like family!
