There are so many activities at The Speakers House throughout the year that you will find something to snag your interest. One of my favorites is summertime when the historic kitchen garden and all of its bounties are available to buy. The archaeological field school is so interesting to stop by and see what the students have uncovered helping to tell the story if this remarkable place!

The Speaker's House is a fun, work-in-progress, landmark located in Historic Trappe Pennsylvania. It showcases the home of Frederick Muhlenberg who was the first speaker of the house. While the house itself has seen a great many changes and remodeling over the years, The Speaker's House team of volunteers are working to restore the house to its glory days of the early to mid 1700's. The house also hosts a German kitchen garden where you can visit during the summertime on Saturdays and purchase organic, heirloom produce freshly picked that day. Throughout the year, there are also family-friendly events that take place, along with hands-on opportunities for just about everyone. You can visit the house and receive a tour by appointment as well and experience the progress of the house's restoration.
