This wonderful museum is situated at the location of the holding cells after the Christiana Uprising, within the old Zercher's Hotel, and is a meaningful gem of true history on the path to freedom for enslaved Africans in America. The museum's docent is an incredible historian who's ancestor was involved in the uprising, and is available to tell often overlooked details to our nation's history. It is definitely worth a visit in a sweet, tucked away town, that is easily accessible just off of Route 41.nI highly recommend a visit, and offering a donation to support and protect this valuable little museum.

Very nicely done. Learned things about history I never knew.

It was closed but the grounds and memorial to the Christiana Resistance were amazing! It would be nice to know the times they are open.

Very informative. Guide was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions. Well be sure to go back in September.

Christiana is full of history but underrated. The Christiana Riot was a key event in the abolishment of slavery. From the underground railroad, to the Zercher's Hotel, where the museum is located, to the location of the old Riot House (marked with a sign), there is so much to see and learn. Occasionally, Christiana will have an open house at the museum or a full town tour to commemorate the Riot. During those times there is a lot to see. People will be dressed up, food will be available and much more. Otherwise, the museum is very basic and a quick visit. But interesting, nonetheless.
