Exceeded expectations! Very well done section on immigration to Johnstown. Too much reading. Also loved the movie on the making of steel. Yes, I would recommend!
Great material and use of technology. Couple it with the flood museum and the dam state park site you have a full day and a complete story
Very interesting history about steel progress and also immigration.nAlso interesting children's discovery center.
My husband and I took our two boys (8 and 9) on Sunday and it was a lot of fun. There was plenty of parking and the building itself is beautiful. The other exhibits were pretty interesting but the children’s museum is by far the best part. My boys enjoyed the mining exhibit with the slide the best. They enjoyed finding Morley all over and getting their scavenger hunt prize. We can’t wait to go back.
The Children's Floor is staffed by some of the kindest and most enthusiastic individuals you will ever meet. It is a great place for imaginative play. They just added a new imaginative play section where kids can pretend to be dentists, vets, beauticians, florists, firefighters, coal miners, scientists, and other professions. Their play kitchen and store are well stocked with goodies to keep little ones entertained. There is a section where kids can experiment with plumbing and construct a dam using different materials. The coal mine slide is well executed and a lot of fun too!nn***People using mobility aids, like walkers or wheelchairs, and strollers may want to call ahead. Elevator has been undergoing repairs off and on. When we recently went it was out of order.****
