I'm not a museum guy, but my wife enjoys them so we went. I had an absolute great day. Really enjoyed it. A must see. Be sure to visit the castle. Incredible.
This seven story fortress made of concrete, displays a mind-boggling collection of ~40,000 items. The concept is expressed by the quote in the photo which accompanies this note. One takeaway is the loss of human handcraft and tools, along with the vocabulary which describes it.nnSpend two hours at the Mercer Museum; enrich yourself.
For small museums, often times they are hit or miss. This one is definitely a hit. The Murcer Museum displays common day items that were used in the distant past of America. The museum boast a unique way to display their items and have several different floors. Even for a small museum I easily spent around 2 hours inside, because of the vast amount of items. But because of the unique display of items there are some cons. Often times I found it difficult to understand the flow of the museum and the direction of traffic. There were also some displays without descriptions and left the mind wondering what the artifacts were for in the past. Overall I think it is a good experience for small museum and would recommend it for someone that has some extra time on their hands and wouldn't mind spending 2 hours learning about the practices of old America.
A total change of place and interest. A historical place where you can explore the making of 1900 tiles. Very interesting and informative. You even have a personal demo on how they are made. Inexpensive to get in $6. Very old world!
Huge collection of antique items from the past. Interesting items, friendly staff. Free parking lot. However only 2 hours timeslots available for view for that price ($15 per adult and $8 per kid).
