Mount Penn Elementary Center

Bullying is a MAJOR issue in this school district. Although it is a very small district, it is a big problem. The administration just sweeps things under the rug as if it's no big deal. The high school has no security, weapons are brought to school and minimal things are done when they are reported. Don't get me started with Dr. Stern. She completely ignores everything a parent tells them. There is also a rasicm issue as well. And this is coming from a Non-minority so to speak. I've seen and heard some disturbing things in and around this district and it's very sad to see these things being done here. The only thing this district worries about is a signed check. if your child needs help, their idea of help is to give them an IEP and skip them to the next grade because with an IEP they can't be held back and this is horrible for a child because they learn minimal and graduate eventually with not enough skills to give them a fair opportunity in the world. An IEP is supposed to be put in place to help not hurt. Someone needs to step in and give this district some help. And also they need to look into who they allow to work or volunteer for them. Drunks and druggies have no place in the district, especially ones who threaten to assault a minor. Verbal alterations with minors are just as bad as putting your hands on them, words hurt worse. Just because they don't have a criminal record doesn't make them safe!!
