I encountered individuals who might have been selling stolen property from their truck. I was told by the owner of the property where this occurred that Sheridan Police was the agency of jurisdiction. I took the time to drive to the Sheridan Police Department main office to report same. Counter clerk was pleasant went I told her why I was there and she said that an officer would speak w me in a “few minutes.” After 20 minutes and no officer arrived (although I did see uniformed personnel in the office) and no update from the clerk I had to depart for a meeting. I told the clerk that I had to leave and offered to write down the information and that the officer could just call me for further details. She took the information and I departed. It’s now been six days and I do believe that I won’t be hearing from anyone. Perhaps the officer saw no need to follow up. Since that time I’ve been told by several area residents that this police department has a history of non responsiveness to citizen concerns. Frankly it’s not a big deal but it left me with a feeling of disappointment with this agency.

Worst police in the state. If you have the misfortune of driving though the city, make sure to turn on a recording device on your phone if you are ever pulled over, especially if you are a person of color. (probably a good idea anytime you are pulled over, but in Sheridan you are guaranteed to be dealing with a bad cop).

I received a photo enforcement in inclement weather which I would have been damned if I did stop, damned if I didn't stop because there's no way a vehicle can stop on snow and ice packed roads in 40 to 45 feet in the 3 seconds the yellow light lasted traveling 36mph which is 9 below the speed limit for the area, but the real problem is I've been calling the photo enforcement department since I received it and have never had anyone pickup so I could get some specific answers to my questions because obviously I was going to show up to court to fight as I should. Thanks for extorting $75 out of me Sheridan PD.nUPDATE:nThe website to make a payment is also now conveniently down the day that the payment is due, and I was was transferred to a voicemal to make a payment over the phone, this is putting an even more awful taste in my mouth!

They're a really good department with professional officers unlike DPD District 4 which is terrible

Work at a small business. Always been nice to me when i have set of alarm by accident or when report stolen things off property. Just chill a little with the speed traps....
