We ran into Chuck upstairs, a retired firefighter who happened to be working on a volunteer project as we were walking through the museum. He was a wealth of knowledge and walked us through part of the museum again, telling his personal stories about the station and the city of Denver. If you happen to see him, definitely say hi! The museum itself was also very interesting and contained some interesting pieces of history.

This Museum was truly wonderful exhibit of firefighting past. It is a MUS SEE, It does not take long to walk through.nnThey pay touching tribute to Denver's fire fighters that have had Line of Duty Deaths up to the most current.nnThis is truly a museum and you will not see anything current which was a little bit of a bummer, I also wish they had touched one fire science or a live exhibit but they are severely limited on space. (I also visited in the winter and things may be different in the summer.)nnThe Denver Fire Fighting Museum did an excellent job covering the past of the DFD all the way back to the beginning, which was truly wonderful to see.nnIt was interesting to see some of the biggest fires in Denver's history. As a wild land fire fighter it was astonishing to see their multi day fire at the old airport where they had multiple underground tanks burn. It was jaw dropping to read the amount of water used, foam, and personnel.nnAll in all this was a great experience.

Interesting locale, good history of DFD. Interesting exhibits takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours to read the placards and wander through.

For what it is, it is neat. Being in downtown, you will have to pay for parking and it is generally not convenient. Worth a visit though. Wish they did more with the upstairs area but I assume being volunteer and on a budget that will slowly come together.
