Great place to visit a piece of history. Fun for the entire family and kids. An amazing view to see in person during sunrise or sunset. It will amaze most people. Access to the lighthouse can be done at very low tide. But be careful, keep an eye on the the tide, sometimes it will come up some While on the island.nnArea by the water can get windy and cold at times. Rain can dump on you without Notice sometimes. Water this high up the coast gets very cold.nnParking is ample and easy to access. Just be careful of the high surf. Surf can crests over the sea wall near the parking lot.nnHave fun but be careful while approaching the water.nnLots of restaurants in hotels in the area to stay at.
Go to this beach! When you arrive you are greeted in the parking lot by a group of friendly squirrels eager to see you. These beach squirrels are so friendly its crazy. My daughter was able to feed them nuts for an hour. The beach is great for rock hunters, tide pools are all over if you walk down to the rocks. The kids found all kinds of beautiful shells and rocks and played in the tide pools finding crabs, Sea stars and even an eel. The lighthouse is awesome to walk to at low tide. We watched seals play in the waves, built a drift wood house and saw ospreys diving into the ocean grabbing fish. It was a great little stop. They have clean bathrooms and a beautiful pier to walk out to. All wheel chair accessible. Lots of food options in the area, several other beautiful beaches as well and I would definitely go back to this beach. It had everything really and the bonus of walking up to the lighthouse. Dogs are not allowed at the light house but are on the beach.
Super cool. You need to check this out.
Be mindful of the tide when visiting.
Loved it. It was low tide at that time but the water was rising fast we saw so many whales there we didn't I strongly recommend that you wear boots you can buy some cheap ones at walmart supercenter. One of the maintenance guys was so helpful he showed us the perfect spot to look for whales and within 2 minutes we saw a whale we asked a lot of questions. He was so much help I hope whoever reads this gets the amount of questions answered that I did he was a great help. ;)
