It's always a pleasure to visit smaller CA cities and discover their history. I took the train from San Rafael and really dug the historic core of SR. This city is even more interesting given that the creator of Charlie Brown (Peanuts) cartoons was from here so you can see his characters all over the area. Further outside of downtown you can even visit the museum to the creator.

A great train station. They've repurposed the historical station to serve the SMART train, so it has a nice historical atmosphere to it. The station contains a small visitor's center with a lot of souvenirs and information. The platforms are the same as other SMART platforms. While the station isn't directly within the core of the downtown, it's a short and easy walk to get there.

Thank god, Marin finally let us have this train. My kids and husband are soooo much happier now that I come home relaxed instead of a mess from the commute. You can even have some vino with your ride, love Smart Train XoXo
