I have been a volunteer at Steele Lane Elem. for a decade through the Volunteer Center. The teachers I have worked with and the Principals are truly well-trained, very conscientious and caring. I also work with their outstanding music educator Beverly Barron who is absolutely gifted, dedicated and has a uniquely positive, professional, consistent rapport with the students, staff and families. I am the docent from the Opera Guild which annually sponsors a presentation with the school and singers/pianist from the San Francisco Opera. Ms. Barron prepares her students to fully participate in their roles and the students in the audience listen with rapt, prepared attention. This school brings joy to the lives of many! The entire staff works harmoniously and greets each parent/guardian/student w/ respect. The school's population is richly diverse and maximizes every asset.

I attended this school from 1980-84. Used to have events in the playground like carnival raffles for toys or food. I was in kinda garden when the metal wall went up to reduced noise. Our mascot was Vikings with our purple and yellow! Fun times!

I love this school! Their teachers and all staff are so amazing and friendly, they make you feel welcome! Even the Principal and Assistant Principal welcome you as a friend! And there is always someone to help and listen!
