The museum is in wonderful close to 100 year old house that in itself is worth seeing. The Dutra family has been dredging since the 1880s and the museum is full of models if dredges and blue prints of dredges including the ones designed by the Dutra. Janet, who's father in law was the designer and builder of several dredges. She gives you a history of the delta ecosystem from before the levee's were built to present day. Also shows you how levee's are built and breaches repaired. Tours are by appointment for groups of 10 or more and well worth it.
