This is a great place for anyone interested in the armed forces or airplanes. So many different types of plane that were either used for combat or the transport of goods, soldiers and the injured.nEach one on display has an information board telling all you need to know about its service, how many were commissioned to how many crew and or passengers it carried, also speeds to thrusts.nThere are so many to see, and they also have an indoor exhibit too with much more on offer including test models that pilots use to train in.nThe people running it all so very helpful that can answer any questions you may have.nSpent a good 2 hours looking around.nIt's free to enter but any donations welcome as they rely on these for the upkeep of the museum.
Volunteer run on base military aircraft museum. If you are civilian it's an official hassle to get a museum gate pass. Bring lots of I.D. and don't joke around with the base security guards. You may be allowed access sometimes.... Or not. Museum is smaller inside but outside are about 4O aircraft.
Always enjoyable for the whole family, young or old. So much to see. A great gift shop for commemorative buffs.
Fabulous displays of our history, and every person who answered our questions were knowledgeable and extremely kind. I will visit again!!ud83dudc96
This past year I toured the Travis Air Force Base Museum with a family member and since our father was United States Air Force retired and serve at Travis Air Force Base I found the museum had excellent historical exhibits inside and outside about the history of Travis Air Force Base. The museum is staffed by an excellent staff of volunteers that can help you answering your questions and they are former members of the United States military and they are a great bunch of people in securing the history of the United States Air Force at Travis Air Force Base outstanding
