This is our childs first year in the Lake Stevens School district and we are very happy with Skyline Elementary. They are very involved with the kids and seem to care a lot about the kids educational growth and development. Our family is so happy with this school!

This year my son was in 1st grade. His was teacher Ms. Degroot who was a 3rd grade teacher, teaching 1st grade for the first time. I think she should have stayed with 3rd grade. My son had no issues with his AWESOME teacher last year and this year was a total different story. She made sure to let him know everything he did wrong and instead of trying to help him she would get him in trouble. I do not agree with her teaching skills and all the electronics she uses in her classroom and i think he expectations for these kids were of a 3rd grader.nI also think she needs to learn how to take care of her students as individuals, each student is different and may need to learn differently or manage their behavior to help them do the best they can. Not send them to the principles office like she does.nOther than this year with Ms. Degroot and her bringing in the principle into the situation EVERYDAY Skyline is great school. I hope to have an experience next year in 2nd grade as we did with kindergarten. If not we will be switching schools.
