Penguin Island at The San Francisco Zoo

Not sure why I would rate penguin Island without ratng the entire San Francisco Zoo. But since it's a category, five stars penguin Island and a bonus star (if I could) for being right next to the cutest otters in San Francisco

What a gem. The kids love watching the adorable penguins go about their day to day.

This is a not so hidden gem in Griffith Park. It's a free historical site of the Penguin Island at The San Francisco Zoo. The cages are still there. It's a perfect picnic spot. It's an interesting place to explore. I love urban exploration so this is a great spot without too much of a hike to get there. Be aware there is wildlife in the area. Last time I was there I saw wild dogs/coyotes.
