It is a primitive station, but it's being upgraded. I'm here late at night on my way home most weekdays and I've never encountered anyone that was threatening. Although, it is secluded other than the hotel across the tracks, so some caution is warranted.nnAlso, it's South San Francisco (South City), NOT San Francisco or the South of San Francisco as some reviews state. You'll have to pass through at least one other city (Brisbane or Colma and Daly City) before you get to San Francisco.***This is NOT IN SAN FRANCISCO.***

Cal train is inefficient and outdated. And 8 mile commute take over an hour. Do better this is California. Taxes are high enough make some damn improvements.
