Maria Montessori School

I cannot say enough good things about this school. I have twin boys who are now in their third year at Maria Montessori School, and I feel they are receiving a first-rate education in a wonderful, loving school environment. Coming from a family of professors, school administrators and teachers back East, I wanted my boys to get the best education possible here in San Diego. After touring ten preschools including three other Montessori schools, I felt that this one was the best. I was immediately impressed by the beautiful, well-kept grounds and the bright, sunny, well-organized classrooms each with its own wealth of authentic Montessori materials.nnOnce my boys started attending this school when they were three years old, the school went on to exceed my expectations. Many of the teachers at Maria Montessori have been there for many years, some even for decades. You could not ask for a more caring, dedicated and professional group of people to help educate your children. One of my boys now has reading and math skills far past his grade level and the other is making amazing progress as well. In addition to the activities of a quintessential Montessori classroom, they are also exposed to many other subjects including science, foreign languages, art, geography, etc. Diversity is celebrated at this school, and the multicultural faculty and student body have served to further enhance their learning experiences about other countries and cultures. They have made many wonderful friends and love coming to school every day.nnThe school is expensive but not as costly as others in its league and is definitely worth every penny. When I drop off and pick up my children at this school, I am always pleased with the wide variety of wonderful learning activities that I see. I think that what it says on the school’s website is absolutely true… “ Maria Montessori is the school you wish you’d attended.”

All three of our kids (now ages 22, 19 and 16) attended this school and received loving, personalized and inspiring education that played a key role in their academic and socioemotional thriving. Simply put, MME helped nurture each child's individual love of learning in ways that gave them both foundational knowledge and a passion to grow.nnThe school went to great lengths to teach and honor a diversity of cultures and beliefs in ways that exceeded any charter, public or private school our kids later attended.nnMME provided a superior educational experience and we left only because the program stopped after grade six.

Our daughter attended MMS for pre-k and K. All I can say is good things about the school. The staff and teachers are so nice and caring. Amazing education and our daughter actually loved going to school :) We would have kept attending for years to come but we moved out of state...will miss everyone sooo much! Thank you!

We have two kids in Maria Montessori School here in San Diego for the past two years. While we have always been with a Montessori school, at MMS we noticed that our girls are thriving, filled with love for learning. The kids at MMS not just strive to do better but also help their peers as well embodying the true spirit of Montessori learning. Kudos to the teachers and staff of MMS.nEvery kid is unique and will have his/her strength and weaknesses. Here at Maria Montessori school, the teachers take the additional step to work with children in a social group but also individually. This enables the kids to work at their own pace without the stress of grading and tests purely for the love of learning.nWe as parents have been very happy with academic, and social development of our kids here at MMS. But the biggest recognition I can bestow upon the school is that my kids do not want to miss even one day of school lest they miss out on anything!!

I think this is a great school with really great teachers. I am happy with my daughter going to this school!
