Affordable Water Heaters

Terrible service. Ridiculous prices. Wish I had never called them. Water heater had stopped working. Burner was out and would not ignite. Found the phone number on the outside of the water heater we had installed from Lowe’s just 3 1/2 years before. Sent out someone the next day an hour later than they had stated. Then after examining water heater, repair man said we needed a new thermostat. $99 for service call plus repair. His boss on the phone quoted me $850 for everything. When I told him it was too much he went down to $700 hundred. In need of hot water I agreed. After an hour and a half, the repair man was done and left. Later that evening discovered the water heater was still not working again and we still had no hot water. There was also the smell of gas that was not there prior.Contacted them again and they sent out someone else the next day. After another visit, it was now determined that a new burner was needed. They said to contactnwhirlpool since they don’t have the part needed for the Water heater. They said when I get the part, contact them and they would send someone out and charge me another $300 to install plus another $99 for another service call on something they never got working properly in the 1st place. Whirlpool sent the part and we were able to install in just 30 min ourselves. They were going to charge almost $400 to install. Contacted them again and spoke to Dallas to inform them of the gas smell that is still lingering since his technician was 1st out. He asked about the part that needed to still be installed. When I told him it was done, he said I would have to contact gas company about any smells. Now waiting for the gas company to resolve any issues. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare. DO NOT use them. They charged me to fix a water heater they never fixed and just wanted more money.

For a ten dollar thermal couple plus labor and a pressure release valve they wanted to charge almost $500 dollars. I bought the thermal couple and put it in myself in about 20 min. I declined their offer and they brought it down to $350. I still declined the estimate, so the charge was $99 for the estimate. I called a handyman and he would charge only $50 to put in the couple. I recommend, do your research and call other repair services before you call affordable water heater.
