This job is by far a very hard and difficult field to work in.. Choosing to work in a law enforcement position is extremely admirable and takes a very special personality whom is not just empathetic but also intelligent and holds an innate skill set -- whom can think fast and outside the box, to best mediate situations which could potentially turn ugly!nnI appreciate the peace and safety the Anacortes Police provide our beautiful area, so I can sleep better knowing that they are best protecting and serving each of us whom reside or work here.nnSo often police officers are over analyzed and are misinterpreted or viewed as one in the same, no thanks to our negative-based media.. Being born the daughter to a man quite similar, I know first hand that they rarely are given the props they deserve!nnI feel these individuals are indeed the humble and silent HEROES!nnI commend the dedication and balancing act they must waver on a hypothetical fine line, open to criticism and scrutiny, not to mention the potentially life threatening circumstances that they may face every day as each new day presents a different new mysterious adventure..The police I have seen here, are truly brave and honorable!

I left my Cain at a gas station in Anacortes and arrived home on Orcas before I missed it. Officer Schepers was kind enough to retrieve it from the station and place it in the evidence dept for safe keeping. He was more than courteous and professional.nBarry Neville

Friendly and efficient like a small town police department should be. The team that works in the office has great customer service both on the phone and in person.

I had to call the anacortes police to find my son, that was homeless and is having seizures and the officer was so amazing, helped with getting info to my son, helping me figure out how to get him home, and they paid for a bus ticket for him to get to the next place.
