Grass Valley Animal Control

Wonderful staff! We just adopted our little guy from the shelter they run and had a really awesome experience. We have a little one so we went there several times over the course of a few weeks to get to know the dogs and make sure we were adopting a dog who was a good fit for our family. The staff was very supportive and helped us find our perfect little guy. You can really tell that they spend time with and know all of the animals that they care for really well. They also have a clean facility and have the animals on a good diet which is awesome. We couldn't be happier with the new addition to our little family!! Thank you guys!

Extremely rude and wouldnt let me adopt a cat cus my neighbor had a dog. Well if all you adoptions were based on that no body would be adopting anything from them the lady waa rude and argumentative.

Limited hours meant a few attempts to catch them open, but they were very helpful and more affordable than other options. The dog I adopted is wonderful, and I really appreciate the work they did getting him to me.

I have had the horrible experience of going to the grass valley animal control 2 times now. I have grown up in grass valley my entire life and I have always heard how rudely the employees treated people who come there. Well let me tell you they act like dog nazis. When you first walk in they give you a look like what the hell do you want. They talk down to you and act as if you are under there control when you are there. I had them personally tell me that since this was the second time my dog has got out that I was not a good dog owner and they said we will see me soon then laughed at me. ( FYI ) The UPS driver did not close the gate at our house and that was how my dog got out this last time. The time before that a tree fell and knocked my fence down. Some pretty normal stuff after owning my dog for 10 years. There really is no excuse for the degrading way they treat people who go there to pick up ther dogs. As if that is not bad enough they only except cash or check, no plastic! By the time your paying them over $200 for picking up your dog as I did the fact that you have to carry a check book on you or have to leave to go to an atm is quite inconvenient. Overall it is time we all do something to get the right people behind the desk at animal control here in Grass Valley. And if we do not, then if you have to go to Grass Valley Animal control please record the experience and upload it to YouTube so everyone can see how bad it is. I wish I read a post like this before I went and recorded my experience. Whoever is in charge of putting people like that behind the desk at animal control desk should loose there job! These are not the type of California state employees that we need. We deserve better.
