Dealing with the LAPR and blue cross anthem has been an absolute nightmare in the treatment of my Hep C. 3 months post diagnosis and my medication still hasn’t been resolved. The medication “Mavyret”n100-40 mg tablets runs about 13,900 per month to treat Hep C (A fetal liver disease). I have already been diagnosed with liver damage because of the Hep C. This means NOTHING to the Police Relief or Blue Cross.nnFor YEARS my HIV meds were filled no questions asked by my local pharmacy. However, once this hep c Med was prescribed, I’ve been tied up in red tape, insurance bureaucracy, and a subsidiary of express scripts (Accredo) which has hundreds of complaints about poor service or sloppy service. medical records are being lost, misinformation is being given by both the police relief and Blue Cross regarding my treatment.nnMeanwhile, my husband who has Cigna here in Texas, with a 85.00 per paycheck premium, and 2000.00 deductible- breezed right through the process. Plus- the “medical advocates” at his pharmacy, told him about a co-pay card which would cover the co-pay of this medication . Meaning this- HIS MEDICATION IS FREE! AND he has now met his outta pocket annual deductible for 2019- so all of his doctor and medical visits are FREE for the rest of 2019.nnI thought here at LAPD we had great healthcare? Guess not!nnThis has gotten so bad, we are now considering hiring a lawyer to deal with LAPR/Blue Cross for “bad faith” insurance policies.nnWe have filed letters of complaint with BOTH Texas and California Dept of Insurance and Dept of Pharmacy investigators.
