Officer Kong is a wonderful and most professional officer on the force. He kind, patient, helpful, and clearly the finest example of a LAPD officer. Hope he never retire.

I was absolutely distraught by the time I made it to the police station to report stolen property (I had been in LA for 12 hours).nThe officer on duty was the most supportive and empathetic police officer I have ever met. While I was there making my report, numerous times he was interrupted by rude, abusive, drug addled citizens, however at all times he remained calm, in control and considerate of the fact I was way out of my comfort zone just being there.nOut of the entire ordeal I encountered while in LA, he most certainly showed me that there are honest, hard working and caring police around and I think LA needs to truly appreciate that.nThis young police officer deserves recognition and I hope that throughout his career, he continues with the same level of care and commitment he showed me that day.nThank you!!!

No one answers the lines at any given time.

Horribly inefficient and they wont answer the phones!nFrom the very beginning, I had a bad experience here. I went in to file a lost property report. There was little to no AC in the lobby and the first thing I saw was a room full of people all standing around the walls; there was no line. So, i made a line behind the people currently being helped but that's when people started saying they were there first. The two officers that were taking reports were trying to go by memory of who came first! Luckily, I had formed a line because new people stood behind me and couldn't claim to have come earlier. There were three workstations in front but only two officers working with them and about a dozen people waiting to file their reports. There were many mix ups and upset people before I finally got to file my report. This took over an hour! The lady I talked to was nice and I was nice to her but this experience was miserable.nThe copy of the report I was given did not have an official report number which is understandable because they have to enter it into the system first. So I had to call to get it from them...nI was on hold for 25 minutes! after the first 5 minutes, someone finally picked up, i told them what I needed (a report number / DR number) and the guy transferred me right away. after that first guy, I spent 20 minutes on hold and then I finally gave up. I tried again later, when I had more time and this time, someone did pick up. IDK how many people are charged with answering their calls but this was ridiculous.nnBTW, you overhear everything the people are reporting and I overheard much more than I'm comfortable knowing. The workers upfront get sad stories all day long and this is why I was nice to the lady who took my report.
